Donating in memory of my childhood friend Lena, for her birthday (October 24).
Although it's been 12 years since her passing, I didn't find out it was due to suicide until 2017. I still remember the last conversation Lena and I had in the spring of 2006, about her brother's upcoming birthday and what she was going to do after graduating from college. As someone who once struggled with depression and thoughts of suicide, it never occurred to me that someone who was close to me, someone who was intelligent and kind, would also be having mental health issues. I don't think myself to be mentally strong, yet I would give up what has let me see life through each and every day to have Lena here with her family and friends. This donation goes towards naming Lucca in Chrono Trigger "Lena". |
