TW suicide, feel free to not read this commentIn college, far too many years ago, I very nearly attempted suicide. Ten years later, I actually did try. I'm doing much better now, thanks to medication and therapy. I don't talk about it much, even today, because our culture still shames discussion of mental health. I wish I had known of orgs like NAMI in the 1990s, my whole life might have been different. Delighted to be able to donate now, hopefully others will have a less difficult time dealing with mental health issues in the future. |
