Hey everyone! I was formerly known as WanderingMind, so this is the handle I go by now. I feel strongly about the many things NAMI has done and is doing. I attended group sessions organized by them a few years ago, which helped me get through some rather difficult times. It was because of NAMI I began to better understand how depression and anxiety affected my life and continues to do so, although I manage it through the medications I take and the professional help I receive. De-stigmatizing mental illnesses is so important. I want to take this time to mention a pastebin that the late Everhate wrote about dealing with schizophrenia. I learned so much about it through him and it showed the power of speaking up from personal experiences, to cast away the preconceived notions that hurt those these conditions affect. He may have never known me, but I miss his presence. I will gladly blame Everhate. Forever blame Everhate.I recently was diagnosed with bipolar type 2. While I wish I figured it out through a situation which remained peaceful, I took the opportunity to look inward when I was harassed by people who took things about me at face value. Through the professional help I sought, I figured out things about myself going back the last 10 years. Things I found the answers for. Check up on people, see if they're okay. There may be more going on beyond the surface.I also will take this time to plead people to seek help when they need it most. There's only so much one can do through willpower alone, and it's okay to realize the limitations of it. My life isn't easy dealing with these various mental illnesses and conditions day-to-day, but then again life in general isn't easy. But I'm not alone. While I miss the in-person events, I'm glad that Questing for Glory is currently carrying the torch. Here's to a week of great RPG speedruns.
